My Biography

Born in Wirksworth, a small rural town in Derbyshire, James has experience and degrees in both scientific and educational fields. He has worked in both industry and also in schools. Now located in Ottershaw, Surrey he works as an artist, photographer and story teller; a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, he has travelled extensively to many interesting, beautiful and exotic areas of the world. His sketchbook, camera and notebook have been his constant companions in all of these adventures.

James has a wide range of interests, but is mostly motivated by his love of the natural environment, and its effect upon his senses. He works using drawing, sculpture, photography and writing. The exotic and interesting places, together with the animals and the people of the world, provide much of the inspiration for his work. A published writer, photographer and artist, he always enjoys sharing his experiences with groups, and is available for commissioned work.
